About Dad’s! Let’s Go

Figuring out fatherhood, one adventure at a time.

I’m Not a Fatherhood Expert

I’m a husband and dad trying to figure this out while I’m living it.

Becoming a dad changed what I thought it meant to take care of a family. Providing matters, but fatherhood asks for more than bringing home a paycheck. My boys need my time, my attention, my energy, my patience, and sometimes a version of me I’m still working to become.

That is where Dad’s! Let’s Go comes from. This blog is about my attempt to become a more present dad, a better husband, a healthier man, and the kind of father who is willing to get off the couch and make memories with his family—even when I’m tired, overwhelmed, distracted, or the adventure goes completely sideways.

The Real Version of Fatherhood

You won’t find perfect-parent advice here. You’ll find stories about family adventures, marriage, ADHD, health, sensory overload, putting down the phone, getting outside, making mistakes, changing plans, and learning how to show up again tomorrow.

Some days fatherhood looks like a great family hike. Other days it looks like standing in the woods with a toddler who has decided he absolutely will not take another step. Sometimes the win is an incredible adventure. Sometimes the win is recognizing that everyone has had enough and finding a playground.

I want this site to be useful, but I also want it to be real. If something works for our family, I’ll share it. If I get something wrong and learn from it, I’ll share that too.

Why “Let’s Go”?

Because sometimes the hardest part is starting.

Let’s go outside. Let’s go for the hike. Let’s go play. Let’s go talk to our wife instead of keeping everything in our head. Let’s go work on our health. Let’s go put the phone down. Let’s go try again.

“Let’s go” doesn’t mean having endless energy or getting everything right. It means choosing movement over staying stuck.

Meet Let’s Go Dad

The illustrated dad you’ll see around the site is Let’s Go Dad. He represents me throughout the stories—the adventurous version, the exhausted version, the overwhelmed version, and everything in between.

There is another important reason for the illustration: my boys are part of these stories, but they didn’t choose to have their childhood put online. Their names and photographs stay off this blog. I can tell the story of being their dad without making them the public face of it.

What I Hope You Find Here

If you’re another dad trying to be more present, make more memories, strengthen your marriage, take better care of yourself, or simply survive a chaotic Tuesday with young kids, I hope something here helps.

You don’t have to become a perfect dad. Neither do I.

We just have to keep showing up, keep learning, and be willing to go.

Dads, let’s go.
